Lampard compares Terry with Sir Bobby Moore???

He was full of John Terry this, JT that a few years back.

Went all quiet when Terry was facing a load of grief and now that's all gone away, back to his JT, this, JT that again.

They come from from the same part of London; Started their careers in similar manners; captained their clubs; captained their Countries. So yes similarities. BUT one did it with style, dignity and panache; highly regarded the world over. One is a boorish cunt who will be forgotten very soon.

Think it was Clough(?) who said that the perfect central defence should always be composed of one cultured central defender, and one more in what he called the agricultural mould.

Have a fairly good idea of what he meant by that, and know in which moulds, most people would place the two players.

And they wouldn't be the same...

It's great that Lampsy is now back to bigging up his bestest buddie though, shame for JTsey, that he kept virtually sssshhhtum, when the latter was going through a period of big controversy.

terry's more comparable to tony adams, not our bobby. bobby was an all round footballer who was good enough to play in midfield. terry is a very good stopper who contributes the odd goal but he doesn't have bobby's passing ability or vision

To compare Terry to the great Bobby Moore is like comparing sprats to salmon.

Do not get me wrong Terry is a very good player faster even than Bobby Moore ever could be but Bobby Moore had such grace and made it look as if he had ten minutes on every ball his passing was brilliant and God only knows how much better it would have been on better football pitches.
To be the man who who lifts that world cup and the talisman of the team the King pin is very rare so no English player ever should be compared to him.
I have to say his character was beautiful too.
